Our Story
Reelin was born from a simple yet powerful realization: people are so much more than the static words on a resume or profile. Founder Vijay Surla, Ph.D., with over 15 years of experience in the fast-paced semiconductor industry, repeatedly witnessed the limitations of traditional hiring processes in truly capturing a candidate's potential, personality, and crucial soft skills.
Driven by a desire to bridge this gap and foster more authentic connections, Dr. Surla envisioned a platform leveraging the engaging power of short-form video. He saw the potential for individuals to showcase their unique stories, skills, and passions in a dynamic and memorable way. Co-founder Nithya Srinivasan, with her expertise in design and a keen eye for user experience, joined the mission to craft a platform that is not only powerful but also intuitive and visually appealing.
Together, Dr. Surla and Nithya embarked on building Reelin – a video-first platform that empowers job seekers to go beyond the resume and allows recruiters to gain richer, more human insights into potential hires.
